Sponsored by Baylor’s Department of Film & Digital Media, the 23rd annual Black Glasses Film Festival is dedicated to exhibiting the best of the past year’s student work in filmmaking and screenwriting. Originally started by film students in 1999, it has grown into an annual event that gives students an opportunity to showcase their films and reach a wider audience both at Baylor and throughout the greater Waco area.

Chingo bling can be called a lot of things; A rapper, actor, producer, comedian, and social media phenomenon are just but a few of them. At the core of it all, you can call him an entertainer.

Chingo bling found his calling when he started broadcasting on his college radio station. He loved the idea of speaking to large audiences and made it his mission to be heard and seen by as many people as possible. He also found a knack for creating music, so he focused his efforts on building a career in music and was signed to a major record label. With a now sizable street cred, he began to explore his comedic voice. He launched his YouTube page and created his social media presence as a way for him to showcase his unique Mexican-american humor. In celebrating this, his star has grown and is just now beginning to shine.

Due to popular demand, he has hit the road and bringing live, stand-up comedy to sold out showrooms all over the USA. Chingo bling has also filmed his first comedy special for the mitú network that is now streaming on Netflix.

The Central Texas Comedy Club presents the most exciting new stand-up comedy series ever:

The “Waco Comedy Jam” is back for its second year. This show will be recorded live, packaged, and made available on all streaming services. Some of the most promising rising stars in the Central Texas comedy scene will appear at the event. As opposed to other comedy shows, this show is completely raw, uncut, unapologetic, and most importantly, hilarious. What we are seeking to achieve here in Central Texas is comparable to the Def Comedy Jam, Wild n’ Out, Comic View, Showtime at the Apollo, and other comedy shows.

The show will take place at the Historic Waco Hippodrome on Sunday, July 28th 2023, so be sure to mark your calendar!

GENE WATSON

This masterful country stylist from Houston, Texas has been thrilling audiences for more than 50 years. Waco Hippodrome shows are required to follow local health and venue requirements. Changes in local health guidelines or venue policies are not grounds for a refund. 

 Please note: we are working with a local nonprofit organization, Arts for Tomorrow, to process our ticketing. You will see their name on bank statements for any tickets you purchase.

All official event tickets are sold through ThunderTix.com, and the Waco Hippodrome is not responsible for issues with resold tickets or tickets purchased from another source.

ALL TICKET SALES ARE FINAL. NO REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A COMPLETE CANCELATION OF PERFORMANCE BY THE ARTIST.

In the event of a refund for cancelation by the artist, or promoter there will be a non-refundable 4% processing fee that is held by Thundertix from the total purchase amount.

There will NOT be DINNER SERVICE in the Orchestra room or balcony.

Outside food and drink will not be permitted.

In the event that you do not receive your email confirmation, you can reach out to aaron@thewacohippodrometheatre.com for help and we will resend it to you. You do not need to bring your physical-digital ticket to the show unless you want to. You can give your name to the box office upon arrival and they will check you in.
